    Business After Hours

    Glynn County’s largest monthly networking event! A Business After HoursBusiness After Hours (BAH) is a gathering of hundreds of the area's business professionals, hosted by fellow member businesses. Our Business After Hours are anything but stuffy with great food and drinks, door prizes, unusual locations, and friendly, outgoing business people.

     

    You'll get to know fellow business professionals who want to know you as well. Members have a chance to co-host alongside our host and showcase their business in front of hundreds at the event. Starting and growing business relationships are what these gatherings are all about. Join us and see why our events are unique…and don't forget your business cards!

    Quarterly Membership Luncheons

    The Quarterly Luncheon is the Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber’s signature quarterly event featuring high-profile speakers addressing big picture issues for Brunswick and the Golden Isles.  Common topics include education, transportation, governmental affairs and regional relations, and always generate maximum attendance.

     

    Reservations are needed in advance. Invitations are mailed to the primary rep of each member business and information is always included in MemberNets.

     

    Sponsorship opportunities are also available for most luncheons.

     

    Chamber Board of Directors Meetings

    The Brunswick-Glynn Chamber of Commerce typically meets each month on the third Tuesday, in the Chamber Boardroom located at 4 Glynn Avenue in Brunswick but it is always good call to confirm date, time and location or check our calendar of events. Meetings are held at 8:30 am and generally last an hour. New members of the Chamber are invited to attend a meeting in the month following when they join and are recognized by the Board of Directors and given the opportunity to verbally share information about their business. Additionally, they are encouraged to bring approximately 40 copies of business cards, pamphlets and any other printed materials to distribute to those in attendance.

     

    Business Before Hours

    Quarterly meetings with topics typically of interest to St. Simons Island businesses are sponsored by the St. Simons/Sea Island Council at no charge and all members are invited to attend. Register online on our Calendar of Events.

     

    The Chamber Experience

    This annual fundraising event held in May provides financial support for many of the Chamber’s programs. It is an evening of fun that includes fabulous food and both silent and live auctions.  Past items for the auctions have included a trip to The Masters, an all-inclusive two-day trip to Atlanta (including a visit to the Georgia Aquarium and an Atlanta Braves baseball game), fishing and hunting excursions, golf outings, home improvement packages and much, much more.  It is definitely a “Must Attend” event! 

     

    The 22nd Annual Chamber Experience will be Wednesday, May 25, 2016 from 5:30-8:30 at Sea Palms Resort & Conference Center on St. Simons Island.

    Annual Dinner

    The Chamber's Annual Dinner is held in June and attended by hundreds of Chamber members to celebrate the successes of the previous year and to recognize the incoming Chairman, Executive Committee and Board of Directors. We also recognize outstanding community leaders with the presentation of the Alfred W. Jones Award, the Volunteer of the Year Award, Ambassador of the Year Award, Chairman’s Award, Small Business of the Year Award and Entreprenurial Spirit Award.

     

    Annual Golf Tournament

    One of the premiere golfing events in Brunswick and the Golden Isles, this tournament is held in September with door prizes and the usual longest drive, closest to the pin,  and other skill recognitions. But what really sets this tournament apart is the variety of unique activities known as “Woody’s Rules” that are created to challenge the players. Each year, a sell-out field of 34 teams participates in this event. Sponsorship opportunities are available.

     

    Annual Grits and Issues Breakfast

    The Grits and Issues Breakfast is an annual event held in December where our State and Federal legislators provide comments on issues facing them in the upcoming legislative year.

     

    Previous programs involve State legislators providing their views on the most recent General Assembly Session: State Representative Alex Atwood, State Representative – Jeff Jones and State Senator William Ligon.  If our U.S. State Legistlators schedules permit they will also attend.

     

    Business EXPO

    Since 1985, the Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce has sponsored an annual trade fair showcasing local Chamber members’ businesses.  Since the opening of the new Jekyll Island Convention Center, the trade fair has grown into a regional Business EXPO with participation from businesses and organizations from Wayne, McIntosh, Camden and Glynn Counties. The huge Atlantic Hall be filled with exhibitors showcasing valuable products and services and have an opportunity to meet and network with business professionals from all over Southeast Georgia.

     

    The EXPO is held annually in late February or ealy March from 4:00-8:00 pm.  It is largest B2B tradeshow and networking event for Southeast Georgia businesses.

    Members of the Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce are very involved in events that reach beyond just the local community.  Some of the events attended by our members include the following:

     

    Georgia Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner Meeting

    Held each year in Atlanta prior to the opening of the legislative session, the Annual Dinner Meeting traditionally draws approximately 1,000 business leaders from across the state, and features prominent guest speakers.  Past speakers have included Governor Mike Huckabee and Senator Zell Miller.

     

    Georgia Chamber Eggs and Issues Breakfast

    Business leaders, community leaders, and legislators hear first-hand from Georgia’s top elected officials about prominent issues that affect numerous communities throughout the state.  Georgia’s Governor, Lieutenant Governor, President Pro Tem of the State Senate, and the Speaker of the House are potential presenters at the Eggs and Issues Breakfast. This event gives the business community a chance to learn about the issues each speaker plans to concentrate on during the upcoming legislative session.

     

    Georgia Chamber Congressional Luncheon

    The Congressional Luncheon is an annual event held in August in which all of Georgia’s Congressional leaders are invited to take part. The luncheon allows business people to hear directly from Georgia’s federal delegation about the state’s role in national policy.

     

    UGA Economic Outlook Luncheon

    Terry College of BusinessThe Georgia Economic Outlook series comes to Brunswick and the Golden Golden Isles each year in January. Directed by the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia, this program offers a comprehensive and detailed look at the future economy of Georgia. Additionally, the Brunswick-Golden Isles event also includes a local economic outlook from Dr. Don Matthews of the College of Coastal Georgia.

     

     

     

     

    Washington, DC Fly-In

    The Washington DC Fly-InThe Washington DC Fly-In occurs annually in April and is an opportunity for local business and community leaders to express their views on local issues as the "Voice of Business" to the congressional delegation in Washington, DC.

     

    The 40 to 50 participants visit and discuss issues of importance to Brunswick and the Golden Isles, such as transportation and the port, with members of the Georgia delegation.
